View Full Version : Delavo and membership sites

I know that Delavo can set up password-restricted areas and manage password management and subscriptions.
But what about membership sites where each member has their own private/public data? What would be involved in integrating Delavo with such sites?
Could it be done without programming work?
If programming is required, would it be a hard job?
Since there are modules for integrating with forums - which are examples of membership sites with member-specific data - I am hoping this would not be a major task.
Anyone has experience in this (perhaps with Fantasos and/or JVM 1)?
Thanks

Hi Alex,
Please can you be more specific when you're saying "each member has their own private/public data"?

I just mean like any system where each member has an "account" and "account data" which they can view/create/manage rather than just a "login" to access information that is available to everyone.
An example of the latter would be the the Members Area for customers of the IM Index Mind Map where they can find training videos, download info etc. Everyone accesses exactly the same information: there is no member-specific data there. I manage that perfectly well using JVM1, and I know I could do the same with Delavo.
But what if I wanted to allow members to create Profiles within the Members Area, or to create records for each Project that they managed using the IM Index Mind Map. Now, instead of just having a static password-protected website, I would have a script handling account-specific data. (That isn't what I'm doing, but the principle still applies).
What isn't clear to me is how that account management which the script handles would integrate with the Delavo user access management.
I'm assuming there is a way to handle it becase of the forum integration modules of Delavo: a forum is just an example of a system where members have an "account" and "account specific data".
What I want to understand is what would be involved in having the same sort of integration with some other script. I'm having someone write a script for me and want to know what to tell them!
I hope that makes more sense.

Alex,
Indeed, that would require custom API programming.
I spoke with John, and to get more information and a
quote you should submit a ticket ATT: to Matt with
your details he'll take it from there.

Good luck!
