Howdy,
i have a fresh (empty) install of Delavo, and just work my way through the menue items as admin, trying to figure out how to set up the sript properly.
(i haven't used Fanatasos before).
Delavo is taking quite some time to switch from one menu to another.
I'd say it's annoyingly slow.
Does anybody of the other Delavo users experience something similar?
I wonder how "fast" it will be when the database is full of records ...
Is there a way to speed up this tankship?
Regards,
Michael

Hi Michael,
I note that you have had some problems related to your hosting account an installation.
The slowness will be related to this.
I have several installations (including a full blown upgraded Fantasos) spread over different hosting companies and am not experiencing any speed problems with any of them.

Hi Michael
I have multiple licenses and have no problems with speed for any of them.
3 of these are upgraded from Fantasos and have very full databases as
they run my business as well as the businesses I have with my partners.

Thanks Donna and Brian for your replies.
They are like good news and bad news at once ...lol.
It's true. I had a lot of issues. Basically because i had to figure out how to install the missing perl modules on a vds myself, as this was not supported by my hoster.
Even after installation, i got some errors because of missing perl modules, that were not mentioned in the requirements.
I had / have opened several tickets at the helpdesk (not only because of Delavo), but imho the support is not really helping / helpful.
Frankly experience with turbohelpdesk for me so far is one of the worst support experiences ever.
For instance: i'm still in my 1st month of TM. I can't access a lot of the bonus sister sites since i joined and opened a ticket on May 21st. Since then i only get fluff answers and was already about to cancel because of this "turbo" support".

1) Apart from the specs mentioned
Perl 5.6 or later
Perl module XML::Simpler
mod_rewrite
Crypt::SSLeay
MySQL 4.0 or later
DBI module
what else did your host need?
What were the modules needed that are not listed?
Please be SPECIFIC.
2) After several replies in a ticket for the mods missing
you mentioned
"Finally i found out that the GCC Complier is not available in my hosting plan.
There's just no way to install the Archive::Zip without this.
So iclose the ticket"
So you imply that we should add Archive::Zip in the specs too??
3) I read your last response in ticket WWV-511072
Too bad aura there indeed
4) In the ticket UFI-191003 the team asked for the login codes
to your server and you did not co-operate.
"Which login do you mean? Of my Delavo installation?
And why would you need that?
What exactly do you want to check?"
We cannot guess.
We need to replicate a problem in order to solve it.
And if cron works for 1000s of users and not on your
server then please do not ASSUME we must know
what is wrong with your server.
5) I see another ticket HUC-588048 reporting
a problem for the Twitter script... Wait for an
answer but if you will be asked to give the login
codes and you do not then we cannot help.
6) In another ticket XFK-851422 came today I think
you posted a question related to tweets of the twitter
script. There is NO difference there, since all pages
are protected and all pages can be accessed by
using the same username and password.
7) and there is another ticket that refers to your logins.

Hi John,
thanks for taking care.
There are still open issues. I will address them via the various helpdesk tickets.
On June 9th i had already opened a ticket regarding a (misssing) perl module that caused an error after installation that was not in the list of requirements - this was not meant to blame, i was just stating a fact.
Because the trouble is: i'm on a vds with obviously just a basic implemenatation of some software like perl and thus need to find out all that is perhaps missing still, so i could install it and ensure Delavo will run without errors.
That' s why i asked you guys to be "specific" too - like with a list of all the perl modules Delavo needs / calls (s. ticket).
And talking about being specific: the question from support for login data wasn't very specific from my point of view (as they didn't mention the server, so i wasn't sure if they talk about my Delavo installation or something else and asked for more info).
On my vds is no cpanel, but quite a number of my websites - and my Delavo installation is not on my main domain.
That's why i wanted to know first what you guys want to look for, and where ... and decided to post my crontab instead, which unfortunately went unnoticed ...
Hope that clears the maze a bit ...
Michael
