View Full Version : Offline Payments

I setup an offline payment under payment options.
Selected it on a product for a $1 CD order that is attached to Kunaki... I also did it with a download product.
Each time I run through a purchase using the offline payment, as a test customer, I end up on a page with the payment instructions (nothing else on the page, nowhere to go but backwards) and that's it.
So, if someone uses offline payment, how would I know that there is a pending order?
Thanks!

When you get the money. :)
This method is meant for things like Western Union, Checks, money
Orders, etc.

Ok, that I get... :-) but how do I deliver? Do I have to enter a manual order in the system or something like that? Also, they are given a reference number, but where is that reference number in Delavo?

You need to provide them with instructions.
If it is a virtual product, once payment clears, send them a URL to
download it. I use a random set of 3 numbers and 3 letters. I tell them
the link is good for 24 hours. Then I change the letters and numbers.
That takes about 1 minute to do. :)
If it is a physical product, tell them to send you their address. Then once
the payment clears, mail the product to them.

Easy!
Step-by-step:
1. On the offline page, tell them how to pay. Tell them to send money order to XYZ. And to include their full name.
2. When you get money order, go to: http://yourdelavo.com/DELAVO/master/customers/orders.html?flush
3. Type their name into this box:

4. Then click checkbox and select: Mark Paid, like so:
http://i53.tinypic.com/fjg9wn.gif
Now download link will be generated next to their record.
NOTE: Above link I gave you is not available through Delavo top menu.

Hey, thanks Andre... very nice feature, but why the heck is it not in the Delavo menus?
I also don't remember seeing that in the manuals or videos... where do we find out about these tips and techniques... well... other than in the forum from you?
Aloha!

It is in the Sales -> Customers Manual for Delavo Gold.
And everyone finds out about how to use Delavo by playing with it. :)
That is how I learned.

Hi Jeff,
Yes, older versions of Delavo had:
1. Customers -> Sales
2. Customers -> Orders (which is the link I included above)
They took out #2 because it perhaps was confusing people as it's similar to #1.
But fact is... I find #2 way more useful then #1 and only use #2. Including because it tells you number of uncompleted orders.
That's the only feature they took out. So you're not missing out on anything else.
Best,
Andre

In order tofind sales that are not paid, in the search box at Customers->
Sales, check the box for Unpaid sales then the search button.
Only the unpaid sales will display.
This is also a good way to check to see if anyone is trying to rip you off.
If you see a bunch of logins from the same person within minutes, most
likely that person is trying to find a way to get your product without
paying!
Once you find them, you can ban them. :)

Thanks for the tips and help...both of you!
I find Delavo to be both exhilarating and once in a while challenging, but you have relieved some of the frustration... thank you!
