Hi,

i don't have the time to go through much trial and errors with Delavo use.

I found the manuals / guides available so far not really helping me to connect the dots ...

Thus i hope someone more experienced could kindly help me out and set me on track.

Here's what i want to do with Delavo:

1. Setup a squeeze page for prospects to optin to get a free product.
2. Optin form should link to an Aweber list / optin
3. Show the prospect an OTO after sign-up
4. Show Up- and downsells to prospect after OTO-page
5. Deliver the free product (and paid products if a purchase had happened)
6. Have an affiliate program including promotional tools set-up that
- passes the affiliate links to sign-ups / buyers,
- allows sign-ups / buyers to give away the free product too and
- get different % commissions on OTO, Up- and downsells

That's basically it.

How to go best about each of point 1 - 6? Where to start? What next? What then ...
Blueprints like that completely missing ...

Michael

Hi Michael,

That is a lot in those 6 points above - if I may suggest - it would be better to approach the 1-1 services team to get a quotation on setting that up for you.

Hi Brian, well of course i prefer to understand how to do this myself.

Konwledge is power and i don't want to depend on third party service to set up part of my my business.

To unitize Delvao didn't reduce it's complexitiy of use.

And if Delavo is overly complex to use and there is no proper guidance along, i guess i will just refrain to use it.

I did spend too much time on trying to install Delavo and make it work already. Time i could have better spend on my business instead ...

Regards,

Michael

Hi Michael,

I fully appreciate what you say about spending the time on your business instead (I am not part of the 1-1 services team btw).

As a businessman myself, I am always faced with the decision of doing it myself or paying someone to do it for me.

I would urge you not to give up on Delavo though, once understood it really is a helluva system that you can place your trust in.

As the manager of the 1 to 1 team, I can tell you that what you want to do can not be
done in that specific order.

Lol .. is that turning into a riddle now?

Of course i don't need to do the steps in the order listed 1 - 6.
It's just a list of what i want to setup.
I won't mind starting at 6. or 3. or wherever.

I was hoping someone could outline a sort of blueprint / Delavo best practice for what i want to do - like how to connect the dots without having to go through trial and error 1st.

Like for instance:
- you need to setup your product 1st
- to set up your product do this and that
- next setup an Affiliate program for oto
- to set up an Affiliate program do this and that
- next setup an Affiliate program for upsell
etc.

Michael

Hi Michael

I am working on a flow chart for delavo which I hope will help people.

But basically here is what you should do and order to do it in:

PLEASE NOTE: You need to attach the js script to all pages that have anything to do with your aff program. These include the Homepage of your product, all of the sales pages, the thank you page, all the pages in the OTO, and all the pages for any upsells. Here is the script:
<script language=javascript src="http://www.Your_Delavo_Site.com/delavo_directory/aff.js"></script>

1) Set up your affiliate program(s) - you will want to do this first so they are available when setting up your Products/Packages. PLEASE NOTE If you have v1.18, then you will have the aweber integration available so you will want to set up your autoresponder in the Package record. If you do not have v1.18, you may want to set up your autoresponders first so they are avaialble when you need them. Refer to the Affiliate manual, videos, or workshop for how to set up your affiliate pogram(s). I do tell you in the ws video why and what aff programs to set up. :) Do not set the commission here for your All aff program as you will set it in the Product record. (That is the program that All of your users are enrolled in and thus all of your users can promote any Package that you attach the All aff program to). Again this program is explained in the Aff ws video.

2) Set up your Product. If you are delivering an aff program through this product, for example, if you are setting up a customer only aff program (explained in ws video and is what I think you want to do??? If this is the case, you will not attach the All aff program to the package, but will attach the cust Aff program), attach the aff program to the Product. You can also set up an aff program as the Product, for example, when you want to enroll your special affiliates in a SCAP (Special Commission Affiliate Program). Again, SCAP is explained in the Aff ws video.

3) Set up your OTO. (Basically an OTO is similar to a Product but has a different interface.)

4) Attach the OTO to the Product record. You do this in the Digital Delivery section.

5) Set up your Products for your upsells.

6) Create a Package. Attach the Product and upsells to the package.

7) Attach the aff program to the Package.

And basically that is it. You do not need separate aff programs for the OTO and Upsells and actually you can't even set up a separate program for them. As long as you attach the js throughout, the aff ID will be carried from the Homepage through the entire sales process.

Upsells are displayed on the 2nd order page. OTOs are displayed on the Thank You Page.

Thanks a lot Donna

this should help me get started ...*-)

P.S.: You mentionein F1.18 is Aweber integration. Where to find / activate it? So far i only see "Turboautoresponder" ...

Michael,

The "TurboResponder" link is a place-holder. Once you open it, you can put the form-fields from many or most autoresponders that use "post", that is, allow the use of subscription by way of forms.

Also, IMHO, you should consider that Delavo takes the place of the Squeeze Page. I personally believe that while Squeeze Pages are effective, you lose some prospects when you use them because some people will not fill out a form, or will use a fake email address just to get access to your free product.

With Delavo, you don't need to display a form (Squeeze Page) on your sales or promotion page. A Squeeze Page is necessary only when you want the contact info for your list and have to use the redirect page in your autoresponder to bring the prospect to the product delivery page.

With a page that has a hot-link or a button that takes them to your (Delavo-created) 1st order page, the prospect takes action before he realizes that he has to give his contact info to get the product. And since he has taken the action of clicking through, he has demonstrated, if only to himself, that he wants what you are offering. He has made the emotional decision that your sales or promotion page intended to elicit before he has to give any information.

So, now, on your 1st order page, you can explain why it is necessary for the prospect to give the information that your product form requires, which is at least name and email address, without interfering with your sales pitch.

Something else to consider about the actions you are contemplating: don't make any of your products "free". Instead, put a dollar value on it but offer a coupon to get it for free as part of the opt-in process. Deliver the coupon as part of the confirmation process to guarantee that the prospect has to give you a valid address. If he doesn't, he doesn't get the coupon and will not get the product for free.

Hi Michael

John is right. TAR refers to any autoresponder that can receive subscriptions by email.

In Fantasos, that was set as Aweber Integration, not TurboAutoResponder Integration, so
I am used to saying Aweber Integration for that area.

I will try to remember from now on that it now says TurboAutoResponder Integration.

Thanks John,

that's good to know ... i wasn't aware of Delavo working this way ...

Looks like i will have to experiment a lot to discover all the possibilities

If I buy the plugin that has the ability to link to an Aweber autoresponder does it give me an advantage that the user is giving their permission to be added to my Aweber list simply by giving his email address on the order form?

Is Aweber OK with this method or will they still require the user to confirm their optin?

What do you feel is the best practice to use the Aweber plugin?

Thanks,

John Wilson

Hi John,

If your Aweber account is set to optin confirmation then yes the subscription will still have to be confirmed by the user.

Here is what I am looking to do:

Give my affiliates one link.

The prospect goes through the following process:

1. hit squeeze page
2. get free report with links to purchase product
3. get autoresponder series further selling the product
4. get autoresponder offers for other products.

What I want to make sure of is that the affiliate cookie is kept throughout the whole process. Is this possible?

Hi Russ,

Cookies can be cleared by the user or replaced by another affiliate - so no - best way is to make sure that your followup series contains the affiliate link with every e-mail and any report has the affiliate link in all references.
