Last week, Delavo was working great, then all the sudden, a Internal Server Error came out of no where. So I deleted it with the MYSQL Databases and reuploaded it. I went to mydomain.com/delavo-install.cgi and noticed a 500 Internal Server Error. The files were uploaded to public_html and once uploaded, delavo-install.cgi was given 755 permissions. I do not know why this is, but Its something with this delavo-install.cgi because my web host said they didn`t do anything. Please help!

Hi Reid,

This is not normal behaviour, who do you host with - have you added anything recently to your root directory that uses the .htaccess file?

This is going to sound weird. I went to my Delavo Install link this morning and it worked. Didn`t touch a thing and it just started working, Web Host sais they did nothing, and I guess it had to be unless I`m plain out loosing my vision, but the good news is that its working.

Thanks

There has been a recent update in the Zip::Archive PERL module, managed
servers should have been updated automatically, and there was a bug in the
new version that caused this sudden error message because Delavo uses this
module.

Not only Delavo uses this module so it might happened that your provider
had the bug fixed before you'd the chance to complain :)

Hi
I am having the same problem, when I upgrade to delavo 1.1 error occurred in the plugin image. I can not access the default template and HTML code.
The message: internal error (404) .. file: /... /... / public_html / mydelavo / mce / plugins / advimage / image.htm is writeable by Group.
Was it because I do a double installation? I need your help, how do I fix it.

Hi Patrice,

This is not the same error - you are showing an error 404 not 500.

From what you have wriiten it would appear to be a file permissions problem on your hosting and should be discussed with you hosting company.

Can anyone suggest other Webhosts where I can Install DELAVO without UPGRADING to a more Expensive VPS Package?

This is the last Response I got from my Webhost Support as to why DELAVO cannot be Installed.

------------

This is the answer I got from Support!

Comment from Support:

Hello,

After taking a close look at the situation, I was able to detemrine that you were specifying an incorrect MySQL username. Your settings included the username "name_rodalys" when in fact the user for your database is just "rodalys". I made that change when configuring the Delavo installer and it was able to connect to the database.

Unfortunately, there is a new error now:

DIED: Can't locate object method "new" via package "Archive::Zip"

This error is being caused by the fact that we do not have a perl module installed which this software requires. I apologize, but it does not look like our shared environment can support the Delavo application due to that conflict.

You may want to consider upgrading to a VPS wherein you can install perl modules at your own discretion.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

Thank you,
Daniel G.

Startlogic Webhost "suggests I Upgrade to a VPS" in order to install the Zip::Archive Perl Module, does anyone know of a WebHosts where I don't have to Upgrade in order to use DELAVO?

Hi Faizal,

These types of errors need to be solved through the help desk Faizal.

Where is the help desk, I can't find a link for any kind of support, everything says use the forum which is Lamo in my opinion could be days before someone gets on the forum and answers a question...

Read instructions very carefully, have performed everything in the instructions up to where I can no longer proceed. Still getting same error.

The Lamo comment was meant to be taken as a forum is not a good place for "support".
Not saying the forum is lame.

Thanks to a great tech support person at Go Daddy we figured out the problem of why Delavo won't work at Go Daddy. This line in the cgi install file is the problem, the perl module called is not installed on Go Daddy:

use Archive::Zip qw( :ERROR_CODES );

This could probably be fixed by creating a new cgi file that can handle all of the files unzipped.

Anyway, there's the problem and a suggested solution.

Delavo does NOT work on GoDaddy hosting.

There is a thread about it here on the forum.
http://www.delavocommunity.com/showthread.php?t=73&highlight=GoDaddy

And I as well as Brian Collins check EVERY day for new posts so I am not
sure where you got the idea that this forum is no good for support

I get the idea about godaddy.

So where is a good place to host, I've also read about problems with host gator. Where exactly can one host delavo if it won't work on the two biggest hosting companies?

Miles

P.S. Nevermind I found the solution on my own! I am now a Turboer (is that a word?)
