read the other post. the answers in there. also, you might end up contacting your hosting provider as well. that was my problem initially.

Hi Jeff,
Your installation is not going well because of your hosting account restricting the creation of directories/files with the correct write permissions and ownership permissions that Delavo (TM) needs.

try contacting your service provider. i use hostgator and had same response you did with 403 error. its a mod security issue your hosting company needs to adjust themselves.

Hi Jeff,
Explain the problem to them along with as much detail as possible (how to recreate the problem and any error messages) and ask them to fix it.

Here's the ticket I submitted to HostGator (with identifying information removed for security reasons.. lol):
I'm trying to install a script called DELAVO (the latest version of "JV Manager") and after what looks like a successful install I keep getting a 403 error when I try to access the script. I was told by several other people who have installed this script on HostGator's servers that it was an issue that support could fix for me.
The script is installed on (server name) in (full path to script) and should be accessible at (full url to script) but when I go to that URL in my browser I get the 403 error.
Any way to fix this?
Thanks
Here's HostGator's response after they fixed the problem for me (roughly a minute after I posted the ticket):
Hello,
This issue has now been corrected. You were flagging a rule within mod_security which is now whitelisted.
If you need anything else just let us know.

Post a similar ticket with your hosting provider's helpdesk and they should be able to get it straightened out for you fairly quickly.
Note that I only included the "latest version of JV Manager" part because I know HostGator is familiar with that script, thought it might help them get to the bottom of the situation a little quicker.

Also, if your host has an Online Chat for support, I suggest trying that
first as it may be a faster option than email support.
Just a FYI...
