Order through own affiliate link

Hi,

Can subscribers who get an affiliate ID to promote a certain product without buying it first, buy that same product through their affiliate ID?

Here is the case: On my salespage I tell the prospect to go download a $ 0 product as a demonstration of the delavo capabilities. Along the way they will get an OTO for a different product.

Once they have ordered the first $ 0 product I tell them to login and take a look at the affiliate section to see that they have automatically become an affiliate for my hosted Delavo product. The free product by the way is a rebrandable one that they can sell or give away and it has the Delavo affiliate link in it and the prospect can add his or her ID.

However it is not my intention to give every prospect a standard discount the size of their affiliate commission.

Hence my question: can they buy the product (hosted Delavo account) through their own affiliate ID?

They can purchase it but Delavo won't give them a commission for
purchasing through their own link. So, you may want to tell them that
they can't get a commission if they purchase with their own aff link.

how to prevent users registering 2 accounts and using one to order something to get commissions on their other aacount?

Delavo should detect the same IP and do not calculate commissions in such cases

Hi Maxim,

Commissions "sharing" whether done through more than one e-mail address or other methods is very difficult to deal with.

For every safeguard there is a workaround and I.P. checking can be got around too.

What I have found to be a better deterrent is to advise affiliates that if I catch them trying to cheat the system - they will not be paid - period.
