When trying to setup Clickbank to work with Delavo and affiliates I am running into a problem.

When an affiliate link is used to order an error occurs (which is posted at the bottom) after clicking submit on step two of the order process

In the Video in the 'Masters area' says to add the following url as the hoplink target url under 'My Site' in clickbank admin.

http://mysite.com/cart/pg-feedback/return/pgt/clickbank.cgi

this is the same url as the one entered in for each products thankyou page.

I have followed the instructions exactly but get the following error after clicking submit on step2(after selecting clickbank as a payment method below the name/address information).

Everything works perfectly without using an affiliate and can customers can proceed to clickbank order pay and download just fine.... But not when using the affiliate link.

Thanks in advance.

Here is the error message.

Hi Victor,

For technical errore it is better to inform the help desk with a copy of the error as you have done here and your Delavo location, login details and cPanel login details.

In the meantime, I can see from the error that there is a problem with mod_clickbank: :feedbackReturnPgt - if this is the only error and only happens when an affiliate link is used then the problem must be related to the affiliate link which should be in the format http://yoursite.com/yourdelavo/package/affiliatenumber - not in the traditional clickbank hoplink format.

Thankyou for your reply Brian,

A support ticket has been opened but no reply as of yet, so in the meantime in response to your suggestion, the links i am using are generated from the afiliate section in delavo for a user and follow the exact format you specify.

Here is exactly what happens when an affiliate link is used instead of a regular one.

Click on affiliate link
Taken to Step 1 of the order proces..
Enter Email address
Taken to Step 2 of the order process.
Enter First and last name.
Select Clickbank as payment option (only one there)
Click 'Pay Now'.
AT THIS POINT THE SCRIPT redirects to what ever is saved as the Clickbank Target URL in the Clickbank Account with the addition of the following query string appended ?hop=cbaffid&jin_encurl=1:4A58BAAB31FF7040

When no affilaite link is used then the process continues to clicbank as normal for payment.

In the video in the masters area it say to put..
http://mysite.com/cart/pg-feedback/r.../clickbank.cgi
as the Target Hop Link URL

But in the PDF it says to just fill it in and the blanked out picture in the PDF just shows domain name.

Also in the payment gateway options it makes no mention of what to put in this field, only the url to use for for the thankyou pages.

So the question is what should really go in this field? As Delavo tries to send any purchase with an affiliate to that location after 'Pay Now' on step 2.

What do you have it set as in your own Delavo installation to get clickbank affiliates to work properly?

You assistance with this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou in advance Brian.

Hi Victor,

I previously setup and tested the complete Clickbank process for affiliates for both Single Item and Recurring products and tested successfully, I have now checked my test setup and it does not work as expected - clickbank is returning (in my case) directly to my affiliate resource page which has something to do with my clickbank settings I suspect (unfortunately it can take some time for clickbank to reflect any changes here).

I will continue trouble shooting this problem.

Hi Brian, thanks for taking the time to look.

Unfortunately no resolution as yet from the HelpDesk, have you heard anything back yet?

I am a little anxious as this functionality is absolutely essential to our business model, im curious as to how other people are managing without Clickbank affiliate functionailty if this is a Global Delavo problem.

Any news would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Victor,

No news as yet, I am sure that this will be resolved though - just takes a little time for the programmers to test this and fix it if necessary or tell us what we are doing wrong :-)

Hi Brian,

The helpdesk answered, there wasn't actaully a problem with Delavo apart from the fact the Video in the masters area is wrong and it is not mentioned in the instructions at all, but to get clickbank affiliates working you need to...

The Hoplink target URL in clickbank is not the thankyou URL as said in the video, it is your affiliate page or pitch page and then on this page you need to include the following javascript code on this page as well as on the salespages itself.

<script src="http://yourdomain.com/folder/aff.js"></script>

This will then redirect to the clickbank checkout as it should.

Now it works like a charm.

Thanks for your help Brian.

Hi Victor,

Yep, I can confirm too that single sales and recurring sales are now working with affiliate tracking - excellent.
