Coupon help needed

Hi,

i want to get a better understanding of the coupon feature.

Would it for instance be possible to

- automatically issue a coupon with every new purchase - for a limited period in time?

Hi Michael,

Yes, when you setup the coupon you can define a duration (start and end) per coupon.

In the product record you can then assign that coupon to as many or as few products as you like.

Hmm, thanks Brian.

Though i'm not sure if we talk about the same thing.

What i have in mind is to have a coupon "automatically" generated at purchase, which only the purchaser then can use for a discount on a future purchase.

If i want the customer to be able to use the (1-time usable) coupon for whatever future product purchase - would i need to assogn this coupon then to all my products?
If so, is there a sort of mass operation for coupons?
Or would Delavo be able to calculate /generate the discount at checkout, after the cusomer entered the coupon code?

Hi Michael,

Yes you are right - based on the extra information:

You will need to setup a coupon that will not expire, be able to only be used once by a customer and to be used by any product in any package (that is the equivalent of a mass operation for coupons) - you would then have to pass the coupon code in the thank you page or e-mail after a purchase - you may also want to look at the points and rewards system to use instead of a coupon.

and you're right - perhaps the points and rewards system would be a better choice for what i have in mind ...*-)

I definitely need to put more time into exploring Delavo's possibilities ...
