Anyone know how to offer an automatic discount

Hi all

I believe this can be done but don't know how to do it.

How can I offer clients in a particular group an AUTOMATIC discount WITHOUT having to provide them with a coupon code?

I know John does this for his clients (obviously it is reliant on using the same email address as for previous purchases, but I just wondered if this was done through some sort of plugin or how it was possible). I have F1.18 (Delavo version) and some additional plugins.

Hi Aaron,

The way I would do this is under the Users menu / special users - great a group based on the criteria in there.

Then in the product record - choose the group I just created and set the special price there too.

You need to define your special user group ftom the parameters offered
such as purchasers of a specific package.

If you add users individually, there is a limit on the number that can be
added which I think is 15.

Something like this.

Create Special User of Product A
Create Special User Of Product A/B
Create Special User of Product A/B/C

Create Product D for $100
Add Special User of Product A for Special Price of $80
Add Special User of Product A/B for Special Price of $50
Add Special User of Product A/B/C for Special Price of $20

So if customer buys Package D and is a special user of A/B
Delavo will automatically reduce to $50 or 50% Discount

Hi Mike,

I use coupons keeps it simple in my head :-)

However, I would be more inclined to use a membership, role, affiliate program or spend amount (or a combination of those) as you can add more than one special group with a price to a single product (not sure if the limit of 15 comes in there at the product level).

EDIT: I just tested adding 20 special prices to a single product before I got too tired and it allowed me to, so they key would be not to choose users but groups of users, I cannot imagine you would have the use for many groups to be honest.

The limit of 15 was in Fantasos so that may have been changed in Delavo.

Also, inside the Product record if you have plug-in v1.18 is a place to give
a special price to a special user group.

That would be the way I would go as you have your product set up for the
regular prce and then just set a special user price and choose a special user
group you have set up.

I don't know to be honest, I tested it with a group I already had setup from the product record not the Users/Special Users criteria - I will give it a test tomorrow to see if it has changed.
