When upgrading from Fantasos to Delavo:

1. Do I use delavo-upgrade.cgi or delavo-install.cgi ?

2. Do I start a new MySQL database?

Will this keep all my Products/Packages/memberships intact?

1) delavo-upgrade.cgi

2) No. But backup your current fantasos DB.

3) "Will this keep all my Products/Packages/memberships intact?"

No. It'll install most basic version. To make your D install equivalent to Fantasos features, John already sent an email that has link to download the plugins:

Format the following link correctly by replacing
LICENSE with your actuall Licence ID, in order to
download the F1.18 package of the plugins that make
DELAVO equal to Fantasos.

1. So I backup my database, use the delavo-upgrade.cgi, then install my plugins. Will Delavo be able to access/manage my old Fanataos stuff (remote membership list, Products, Packages)?
2. Is there a migration involved to centralize everything?

Hi Paul,

I performed an upgrade for a contact of mine this morning and followed the 4 steps in the upgrade e-mail exactly after backing up absoulotuely everyting I could think of in several different ways.

The upgrade went smoothly and we have not had any problems reported so far (in fact 2 sales came through as I was doing the upgrade).

The only noticeable thing was that the profile/merchant setting information had to be re-entered after the upgrade and (optionally) the Delavo (TM) theme chosen.

When using the delavo-upgrade.cgi:

1. Am I asked to enter the old MySQL database info (database name, username, user password) as with the new install?
I don't have the username & password anymore. Maybe I can creat a new user for the database and use that?

Paul,

It should only ask you for the directory where your Fantasos is installed - no other details, did you perhaps put the upgrade-cgi in the wrong directory - it needs to be run from your public_html directory.

OK, I uploaded the three upgrade files (in binary mode) to public_html/cgi-bin directory.

It does ask only for the directory (no database details). I now get an error - can't find the db config file

Paul,

Why are you uploading the ugrade files to the cg-bin directory?

Where is you Fantasos installed?

My hosting company said the script could only run from (?) a /cgi-bin directory ...
I'll look at exactly what they wrote. When I uploaded the files to /public_html/ it didn't work.

I'll double check again (permissions and such).

Open up your FTP and go to the directory you installed Fantasos in, then go 1 directory back.

Fantasos = com/jvm2
Upload all the files in the delavo package (you can skip the PDFs) to .com

Then, make sure the files you uploaded are chmodded to 755 (that should work).

Open com/delavo-upgrade.cgi and follow the steps.

Your Fantasos should upgraded to Delavo!

Now just upload the F1.18 plugin to the specfeats folder inside of Delavo (if it doesn't exist, create it)

--

If you installed Fantasos outside of the cgi-bin, delavo should work outside too.

I paid John's company to do the install along with the yearly service plan.

Hi Paul,

Below is the correct procedure - did you do your own installation of Fantasos?

I emailed my hosting company.
They used the delavo-upgrade.cgi and it is UPGRADED!

Happy Dance.

Now I just have to get the new skin. It still looks like the old Fantasos. I thought I saw the directions somewhere...

That's easy :D. Just go to Tools -> Templates and select the Delavo skin.
