Guarantee Period on Affiliate Programs

If I was to set a guarantee period of 30 days for the affiliates to promote my membership, would I need to add the affiliate program to the product, the package or both?

Hi Andrew,

There are differing opinons on this - I personally add them to both but there are circumstances where you might not want to add it to the package or add it as well but make it invisible - depends on your marketing techniques used.

Where you attach an affiliate program has no effect on the guarantee.

However, attaching affiliate programs is discussed in the Affiliate manual
and also the affiliate workshop.

You should only attach an affiliate program to a Product if you want to
enroll your customer in that specific affiliate program. And there are
many times when you will not want a customer to be enrolled in a specific
affiliate program, for example, if you have set up an affiliate program with
higher commissions for JV Partners. If you attach it to a Product, then
everyone that purchases the Product will be enrolled in the higher
commission affiliate program, not just your JV partners.

Then there are times when you will want to enroll your customer in an
affiliate program, for example, a customer only affiliate program where
your customer needs to purchase the product in order to promote the
Package. In this case, you wil attach this customer only aff program to
both the Product and the Package. It will be the only affiliate program
attached to the package

Anything attached in the Digital Delivery section of the product, is
delivered to the cusromer. So don't attach anything there unless you
specifically want the customer to receive it.

If an affiliate program is attached to a Package, then anyone in that
affiliate program can promote that Package.

The guarantee can only be entered in the product.

The relationship between the guarantee period and an affiliate (if it is an affiliate sale) is for commissions due to be paid.

The guarantee that is entered into the product, applies to that product whether an affiliate is involved or not.
