I notice the PDF says to set my PayPal IPN URL and Auto Return URL, but I'm not too clear on what I need to set these to.

I'm guessing, based on the instructions in my DELAVO install (which also aren't too clear) that these are the right settings, but I want to confirm before I change them:
Auto Return URL: http://.com (the instructions say not to set it to my actual install directory)
IPN URL: http://.com/delavo (the instructions say to point this to my DELAVO install, but they don't say what file it should point to)

Also, is it absolutely necessary to use Auto Return? I have a few other scripts I use with the same PayPal account that handle PayPal IPN (DLGuard, $7 Secrets, Butterfly Marketing and a couple others) and I know all of these scripts will override the IPN setting with the notify_url parameter in the PayPal button, so no problems there, but some of these scripts require Auto Return to be turned off.

I actually would have preferred DELAVO to use the notify_url parameter in the PayPal button and not require any setting changes to my actual PayPal account, that's the easiest way to handle it from the end-user's perspective (it's all automatic) and it doesn't cause any potential compatibility problems with other scripts.

Hi Steven,

I have not set any IPN or Auto Return settings and it seems fine (I will know for sure when I see the first sale going through Delavo) - I never did with Fantasos and all was fine.

Thanks Brian, that's exactly what I wanted to hear.. lol

I think it's probably safe to assume if Fantasos worked without changing anything at PayPal, Delavo should too. Just waiting on plugin availability now before I decide to go "live" with my Delavo setup (at minimum I'd like a One Time Offer plugin.. and depending on how the Wordpress integration works that might be useful too).

Hi Steven,

Yes, I too am anxiously awaiting some plugins :)

If you have John's Little Script For Running A Membership Site by the way - I have tested it with Delavo and it works a treat, I will be testing another script that I have resale rights for today with Delavo (Instant Affiliate Page).

These are not plugins but are compatible.

I purchased from myself yesterday through PayPal using my wife's
credit card, and I went from homepage to order 1, order 2,
PayPal, and then to my thank you page.

Once order was confirmed from PayPal, I had to click on a link
that took me back to my thank you page - it did not redirect
automatically or anything like that. But, it worked like a charm.

And I did not change nothing inside of PayPal either. Left it
the way it was.

Update:

I have now tested Instant Affiliate Page and it is fully compatible with Delavo too - thanks John, I knew I made the right decision on getting the resale rights to these two ;D

Wow I haven't gotten to those stages yet, but I can't wait. Sounds like you folks saved me a bunch of time and questions. When I am ready to configure Paypal later, ... now I just won't.

Thanks for saving me some time.
