View Full Version : Best Way to Deliver Membership Content

Currently I have a 6-part membership course setup in Delavo. I deliver the content by:

1) Creating six separate pages with random file names (to prevent guessing the file name and hence access future parts).

2) I send the first part out immediately by giving the member their url and password on the thank you page.

3) I deliver subsequent parts with the follow-up manager plugin, which contains the urls to the new parts, at 30 day intervals.

Here's why I hate the method I'm using and want a better way of doing it:

1) The member needs to receive a new url every month

2) Possibility of first month member accessing the entire course if he or she knows the urls

3) Follow-up manager cannot consistently deliver the month's content upon payment. 30 days, 31 days, 28 days? Ideally, I need to send the month's content as soon as the month's payment is processed. This is my biggest concern.

What's the best way to deliver membership content?

Only mine's on a month to month basis.

Joshua,

The best way is to set up a membership for each customer but that is very time consuming.

As always in this business, decisions need to be made on ease of use for the customer, reliable and sustainable methods of delivery and protection of your content.

That's time-consuming Brian :( Delavo is about automation!

Donna... John... The big duo, what's your thoughts on this? Am I missing something or can this be in Delavo 1.5? I don't understand how others can effectively get around this issue of delivering content for memberships.

I also have an unanswered concern regarding 2checkout memberships: http://delavocommunity.com/showthread.php?t=470

I just found out that using the follow-up manager to deliver a membership does not work. Customers cancel their subscription and still receive the emails.

Can someone please give a complete solution to accurately deliver membership content through Delavo.

Joshua The problem is that 'Best Way to Deliver Membership Content' means different things to different people and varies according to exactly what you are trying to achieve.

There are just so many different ways to set up a membership program and automate access and payment using Delavo I'm not sure anyone could answer your question.

Yes, it does mean different things to different people. I need the best way under the listed conditions and problems to deliver membership content.

If there are so many ways to setup a membership, I'd like to see them.

Not trying to be unhelpful Joshua, but you still haven't actually told us what you are trying to do with your membership. You have told us what you are currently doing, and that's a valid membership model used by lots of people.

What Delavo does is manage access so that only paid up members can get into your membership area. (So even if they still receive an email they will not be able to login if they aren't financial.)

How you deliver what they see once they get into any membership site can be set up in dozens, if not hundreds, of different ways and managed by any number of different scripts or solutions - depending on what you want to achieve - which is why it is hard to help you unless you explain exactly what you are trying to do with your membership site.

Tools to deliver your membership content inside can range from the very simple process you describe using email (either Follow-up manager or any another autoresponder like Aweber) through to custom made scripts or regular html websites or content management systems like Wordpress (either with or without Wishlist or DelMem - depending on what you want to do) or ContePass or lots of other (sometimes expensive) options.

As I said it all depends on exactly what you want to have happen once people are inside your site and that means different things to different people and varies according to exactly what you are trying to achieve.

Thanks for trying to help Kerrie.

The first three points state what I'm doing. The last three state what I'd like changed with what I'm doing to create the ideal scenario. I need a better way to drip deliver content.

I don't see how I can be more clear or am not sharing what I'm doing, Kerrie, so please clarify.
