Can this plugin "drip" content?
When someone joins a membership they get that days download and then the ones from then on as long as their membership is valid but not the previous ones. Then if someone joins the next day they get that days download and all in the future but not the previous ones?
Not much info on it's workings in the announcement.
In WishList it's called "Sequential Content Delivery"
Depending on your setup, you may want to graduate your members from one level to the next. For example, members start at “Module 1″ and after 30 days they are automatically upgraded to “Module 2″. That’s what the Sequential Content Delivery system is for.

The answer is NO, it won't do it like WishList will. This makes it useless for me and my membership sites.
Can WishList be integrated with DELAVO?
Well, I looked at WishList and I guess it can't do what I want either, maybe I'm asking too much of any system!

Hi Deen,
To answer your question about "Can WishList be integrated with DELAVO?" - the answer is yes - I have.

Hi Deen,
I have been thinking about this all day, the sequential delivery can be done through the last post in the first membership/module with a link to sign up for the second membership/module and so on or as I have seen John suggest, use an autoresponder to deliver content on a regular basis (once a week - once a month etc.).
I am still thinking on the best way to address your point about Drip Fed Content (which I think is somewhat over-rated anyway and I personally will not sign up for a membership that will not give me access to previous content for free or paid).

Umm.... right now I have the site set for a 30 day refund, If someone has full access for that time and I don't have some type of restriction on what they can download it's possible for them to signup, download some 12 GB of data, get their money back and keep all the data. Isn't that a bad thing for me?
I was also going to have the previous content available on a monthly basis by paying the equiv. of the monthly fee to access the previous data either by download or on CD

I'm considering this plugin, too.
My question is, does it handle pages the same way as it controls the posts?

Hi Jeff,
Yes it does, either the complete page or parts of it (I just tested it).

JeffAt the time it was the first release and I couldn't get the signup pages to show, haven't tested it since the latest release.
Still mulling it over in my mind as to whether to use it for my two clubs and combine them into one with two levels.
I need to work with WordPress some more too. I'd like to put pictures of the product in to the description of each product and I'm not sure how to do it yet.

Hi,
I'm trying to work out if the WordPress plugin will fit my needs. I have a few basic questions...
1) How does it add users to the WP blog? (injecting them in to the MySQL database?)
2) Can you control the users that are added by associating a product or package with a WP blog install? (are the users added as soon as they purchase? reason I ask is the video tutorial only shows adding one Delavo customer manually - surely this isn't the only way to add users to a WP install?)
3) Are users removed from a WP blog automatically when a Delavo customer refunds their product associated with a WP membership?
4) Anyone had any success integrating it with MemberWing? (I particularly like MemberWing's download protection feature)
Thanks in advance for any help with these q's. :)

Hi Mike.
1) Yes
2) Yes - the video shows adding manually for demonstration purposes - you would normally add the 3rd Party Script/Membership attatched to a product/package (I wasn't aware that videos had been produced for this plugin yet - I assume you are talking about the WP Plugin part).
3) That would depend on how the refund happens (i.e. Paypal IPN or a processor without IPN) - I have tested removing a customer manually through Delavo and it removes them from the WP mySQL database.
4. Personally no - I have used WishList Member successfully.

Many thanks Brian, that's a big help. Looks like the plugin should help me with what I need. :)
btw I found the video's here: setup (http://delavo.com/free/videos/plugins/0000106300.delavo.plugin.wp3rdparty.prt1.html) | adding users (http://delavo.com/free/videos/plugins/0000106300.delavo.plugin.wp3rdparty.prt2.html)

Brian, I have one more question I'd like to ask if I may...
After a customer becomes a member of a WP install through Delavo... how are their WP passwords handled?
For example, if the user changes thier password in Delavo does Delavo also update thier password at the WP membership? And also going in the other direction (wp -> delavo), is there a way to prevent a user from changing thier password at the WP end and thus having it not mach their Delavo system password?
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,
I have tested this today.
Initially the user will have their auto generated Delavo password inserted into the WP blog.
If it is changed by the user whilst in Delavo - it also updates their WP Blog password.
If it is changed in the WP Blog - it is NOT updated in Delavo.
I am not aware of any way to stop users changing their password in WP - possibly a bit of research in the WP knowledge base would turn up an answer.
As my system is connected to a large number of other 3rd party systems - I personally mention as many times as I can (including their welcome e-mail) that users should only change their passwords in Delavo - otherwise run the risk of getting out of synch (although most of the other systems do have a password reminder facility).

Thanks Brian, that really is a tremendous help :)
The fact that Delavo does update the password at WP is excellent.
I did a little looking and found this free plugin for WP which enables you to customise the look of the login page for WP, and most importantly, has the option to remove 'Register' and/or 'Lost Password' links. Perfect... (I hope!)
Theme My Login:
So it looks like a pretty solid setup can be gained with the following combination:
Delavo
WordPress
Delavo WordPress-Membership Plugin
Theme My Login WP Plugin
WishList/MemberWing
I shall go forth and test... then report back if it all works. :)

Hi Mike,
Unless there is a special need for Wishlist/MemberWing - I would not use these as well as Turbo WP Members.

Hi Brian,
I'm not using the Turbo WP plugin, just the Delavo WP plugin.
From what I can see I need the WishList/MemberWing WP Plugin in order to make WP private for the added users via the Delvo WP Plugin.

Hey Guys,
I'm in the same boat - can't get sign up pages to show at all.
Does Release 2 fix this problem ???
Where do you download it ??? (From the main Delavo site at use-sell ???)
Why has no email been sent to purchasers to let us know to get the new release ???
Cheers,

Hi Plutus,
There is no version 2, it is the same version but was updated (tweaked) for more compatiblity for different hosts.
You should re-download from your download page at the Use-Sell customers area.

Hi Mike,
The Turbo WP Plugin is a partial replacement for Wishlist (don't know about MemberWing), it does the same thing - there are a couple of bells and whisles that Wishlist has that Turbo WP does not have (yet).

Ah, maybe I'm a bit confused.... is the Turbo WP Plugin that you talk about the same as the Delavo WP plugin available here: http://use-sell.com/2/1512588ql/order
Or are they two seperate plugins, one for delavo and one for WP?
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,
Yes this is where the confusion is - sorry - The Turbo WP Plugin - DELmem is not on that sales page - it was announced through an e-mail from John.
The one on the sales page creates subscribers in WP.
DELmem takes that a step further and creates and manages memberships in WP.

Ah, gottcha. So now I'm not too sure if it is DELmem I need. Hmmm...
Is there a page with info about DELmem? I never got that email from john.
Thanks,

Hi Brian,
Spasiba...
Thought that was the case. I downloaded it but it had the same name so I figured it hadn't been updated.
(I expected to see a V1.1 or -1 or 1.01 or something like that in the file name of the download)

I have DELmem up and running, now "fleshing" it out and adding content. Not sure if I'm going to use it as a permanent setup or not. Had to reload the "locked" icon to the correct spot in WordPress.
There is supposed to be a class on it in John's Special Class, wish that would get published ASAP.
I also added a warning about changing the PW in wordpress to the main page. I downloaded the plug in that lets me change the login screen, just haven't set it up yet.

seems to be working fine. Pretty easy to setup other than I have three membership levels, I want all levels to see what is available (hopefully they will want to upgrade when they see what they're missing) but only be able to download what their membership level is allowed to. I have to put a separate download link for each level so I end up with three links for some but only one active. Works OK, just not the "cleanest" looking.
