Hi All,
I just got Delavo yesterday installed last night so i got to do tweaking yet with skins ect, But was wondering about if i can add affiliate to an existing membership site i have. What i mean is that my existing site has it own shopping cart sytem built in the only thing that is missing is being able to run affiliates to sell memberships.
So can i run affilate with delavo for my existing site or would i need to attach payment system through delavo as well i am kinda confused on this just now, reading all material but there a hell of alot of stuff to read ;D
Also notice in another post some people not using auto return with ipn paypal confused on this too as my existing membership site doesnt use this?
Thanks
Ian

Hi Ian,
If you want Delavo to track you affiliates and credit the sale to them - then yes the successful order and sale needs to go through Delavo.
Not using IPN is optional as Delavo passes the correct parameters to Paypal for the return.

Hi Ian,
Using Delavo for new projects is a good strategy - long term it would be good to transfer your existing membership too - it depends if transfering it would be lose too many subscribers just for the case of tracking affiliates.

Hi Brian
I wouldnt loose any subscribers it is that my site is actually 3 diffrent scripts married together to make 1 site. My site is a cross between yellow pages/myspace/craigslist & whole lot more but the problem would be in all the databases they are all tied together now for existing shopping cart so i dont know if by adding delavo to the mix would just screws things up.Another problem is that i have 2 diffrent php developers work on it so i am gona have to check to see if i will screw things up.I would luv delavo to do everything for me but i think i will have to test on new plr sites ect first and make sure i can opporate delave first ;D

Hi Ian,
Yep - sensible try it out with a new project first (I think you will like it) - it is not in the basic version of Delavo but there will be a plugin that will allow other scripts to interface with Delavo for membership access and control through an API so that your developers can use that.
