What are Alerts?

Hello!
Could anybody point out to a page/video that talks of what "Alerts" on the Tools Menu is, why and how one should use it? Or if it is not available, can some expert let me know this info?

Hi Ashish,

I beleive the Alerts function was originally intended to be hooked up with a desktop alerts system (similar to when you use google mail/google talk).

I am not aware of this being implemented yet.

Brian,

It shows up on my latest verision of Delavo under Plugins menu (and not tools menu as said earlier). Have tried to understand by clicking but failed.

Brian is correct. It was originally meant to be a desktop notification
sysytem. John has not released the software.

So, alerts is not yet and may never be implemented.

If so, may we request John to have it removed from the menu untill and if ever introduced? Of course it does no harm if it remains there, but why keep things which are useless?
